Freelance Designer

We are looking for a Freelance Designer to support our interior design studio across a mix of design, procurement, admin and day-to-day studio tasks.

This is a hands-on, varied role within a small, growing studio, supporting live residential projects and the wider running of the business. We are looking for someone reliable, detail-oriented, proactive and invested in doing things properly.

The role is offered on a freelance, flexible basis, with hours varying depending on workload and projects. At present, we are looking for support of approximately two days per week, with scope to increase hours and grow into a more substantial role over time, depending on fit and workload.

Working will be flexible, split between working from home and one day per week in our studio in Cobham, with occasional site visits as required.

Type: Freelance (self-employed)

Responsibilities will include:

Producing drawings, schedules and presentation material
Creating drawing packs and SketchUp modelling
Assisting with client presentation packs
Supporting procurement administration, including orders, invoices, schedules and supplier follow-ups
Researching and sourcing new specifications, suppliers and contacts
Keeping project management systems and shared inboxes organised
Supporting with site visits and on-site tasks as required
General day-to-day support across multiple residential projects

Skills & experience:

Previous experience working within an interior design studio
Confident using AutoCAD, Programma and Canva, with strong skills in Photoshop
Experience using Excel preferred
Experience working on residential interior design projects
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisation skills
Comfortable managing your time, prioritising tasks and working independently

Additional information:

Freelance role on a flexible basis, with hours varying depending on workload and projects
Currently approx. 2 days per week, with scope to increase as required
One day per week studio-based in Cobham with remaining WFH
Applicants must be based close enough to Cobham to attend the studio at short notice if needed
Occasional site visits will be required
Must have a driving licence and access to a car
